About Us – Carol’s Costume Corner – Costume Rentals Vancouver

Carol’s Costume Corner opened its doors in North Vancouver in 1985 with just 75 rental costumes. For the last 23 years, our extremely talented crew has designed hundreds of designer costume originals, shopped with an addiction, and played dress up with just about whoever we could in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. (And not just at work, either!)

After maxing out our space on Londsdale, Carol’s moved to the current location on East 2nd Street in North Vanouver in 1997.

In 2005, owner Carol handed over what by then had become a “costumes in Vancouver” institution to Laurie Sluchinski. Laurie is an avid traveler and fan of dress up (she even met Mr. Dress Up himself once backstage!), and still finds it amazing that she gets to earn a living while playing in costume.

Over the years the team at Carol’s Costume Corner has costumed thousands of parties and hundreds of shows. At Carol’s, we like to believe we have the friendliest and most creative staff in Vancouver — as a bonus, they also provide amazing customer service. With the rise in popularity of Anime, fantasy and other festive occasions, it seems a second generation of dress up has been born and more fun times lie ahead.
